DBA
Summary: Responsible for the management and maintenance of company databases. In charge of capacity planning, installation, configuration, database design, migrations, performance monitoring, security, troubleshooting, as well as backup and data recovery.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install and maintain the performance of database servers.
- Develop processes for optimizing database security.
- Set and maintain database standards.
- Participate in database design and architecture to support Web/App development.
- Manage database access.
- Ensure data integrity across multiple systems and domains.
- Coordinate with systems and development teams to manage technical specifications.
- Performance tuning of database systems.
- Manage and monitor data replication.
- Install, upgrade, and manage database applications.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors.
- Recommend and implement emerging database technologies.
- Assist with the creation of database reports, visualizations, and dashboards.
- Create automation for repeating database tasks.
- Be available for on-call support as needed.
Education/Experience/Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in Database Administration or
Computer Science. - 4+ years’ work experience as a Database Administrator or a related field.
- Strong command of SQL and SQL server tools
- Advanced knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards.
- Power shell scripting skills
- Extensive experience with database technologies (MySQL, MS SQL, PostgreSQL Oracle, MongoDB)
- Familiarity with SSAS, SSIS, SSRS
- Analytic mindset and good problem-solving skills
- Higher-level written and verbal communication skills.
- An acute attention to detail
- Proactive, self-motivated, able to recognize issues and resolve or escalate appropriately
- Excellent interpersonal skills, both in person and over the phone
- Able to use electronic calculator, computer terminal, personal computer, etc.
- Must be comfortable working in a team oriented, fast paced, multiple task and customer focused environment.
- Willing to “think out of the box” and identify process improvement opportunities.
- Requires the ability move freely about the facility, work sitting or standing, operate basic business machines, and lift and carry office supplies.
There is no relocation package being offered for this position.
